Mauritius and the Seychelles- September 2011

Since visiting the Seychelles was on my bucket list, we decided the two days of travel from Arizona to the Indian Ocean for vacation was worth the haul. Even though the weather was questionable due to an odd streak of rain during the dry season in the Seychelles, we thought the trip was totally worth the wait. We flew four different airlines and stayed at four different hotels- not something one normally does on a vacation that is meant for relaxation, but it had to be done to get the itinerary we wanted!

Fiji is an incredibly HOT destination right now, with an excellent exchange rate, ultra exclusive private island resorts, a recent article featuring Wakaya Club in Conde Nast Traveler, and Oprah Winfrey’s recent visit to Laucala Island following her highly publicized Australian tour! While we all can’t travel like Oprah, Fiji offers small, intimate, all-inclusive luxury resorts for less than you may think! It’s actually more affordable and a similar itinerary will cost less than Tahiti in most cases. So, imagine my excitement to have been a part of this year’s Tourism Fiji Matai Familiarization Trip!

Moorea, Bora Bora and Tahiti, French Polynesia – March 2010

Another year and another fabulous trip! Visiting French Polynesia never gets old, and each time I go, I discover something new and wonderful. During this visit, my discoveries were quite bountiful, as I visited 11 properties on 3 islands, and even the 2 properties I had visited on prior trips had some exciting new updates! I have never been as busy on vacation as I was on this trip, but the effort turned out to be extremely worthwhile, even if I did have to endure remnants of Tropical Cyclone Sarah for the first 3 days.

Huahine, Raiatea, Taha’a, and Tahiti, French Polynesia – March 2009

As a Certified Tahiti Specialist Travel Agent, I had the wonderful privilege and opportunity to travel to French Polynesia for the 1st annual Tiare Agent Conference. The conference was held at the Radisson just outside of Papeete over the course of 2 days, but I was able to visit Huahine, Raiatea, and Taha’a prior to attending the conference. I had the pleasure of traveling with my friend and fellow agent, Caroline, who is also a Certified Tiare Agent. As always, it was an outstanding trip and the information I gathered is invaluable.

The Fairmont Kea Lani in Maui, Hawaii – May 2008

Everyone has always told me how much they loved visiting Hawaii, especially Maui. I had heard there are a ton of things to do and to see, so in 2008, I decided to cave in and take a trip! The airfare was pretty inexpensive from LAX and I was able to receive a very nice deal from the Fairmont Resort in Wailea, so in May 2008, I packed my bags for Maui for 5 nights!

In April 2008, I decided to head back to French Polynesia to an island that I had not yet seen. I only had 6 nights, so I choose Moorea. Since Moorea is the second most popular island with my clients and also one of the easiest to get to from Papeete, I felt this was the best choice. I ended up having an amazing time!

Manale Bay Lanai and Hilton/Hyatt in Oahu – March 2005

I went to Lanai for 4 days for relaxation and Oahu for 7 days for a business trip. This was the first time I have been to Hawaii. I booked the Lanai part of the trip, which included interisland flights, hotel stay, and transfers as part of  a package. I booked everything on my own for Oahu through my company travel agency. While I had high expectations of Hawaii, and they were not entirely let down, I must say that it is NOTHING like I imagined! I know I chose an island that is off the beaten path, but this just makes me want to visit ALL of the islands now!

We went to Tahiti, Tahaa, and Bora Bora for 11 days, plus 1 night in Los Angeles (Westin LAX) on the return trip. It was truly an amazing experience and one the first of many trips to come. I was in awe of the beauty of the islands and the smells in the breeze were enchanting. I cannot even really put into words the experience we had because it was so perfect. French Polynesia is true paradise and we cannot wait to return. I’m obsessed!
